KAP - #KAPfe (self-released, 2012)
KAP, who are really only known for their (or Lil G, more specifically) excellent collaboration with Chief Keef, "Tatted Like Amigos", released their latest mixtape yesterday. As a group of three kids out of Atlanta, they sound inconspicuously like Travis Porter - one of the members ever bares an uncanny resemblance to Ali, and I’m almost entirely sure that is Ali’s twin brother or Ali himself under another pseudonym. Lil G is the clear stand-out of the group, as Not Ali and their chubby friend offer little that we’ve yet to hear, but Lil G’s Lil Mexico lingo and off-key sing-song almost takes this tape above the cusp of mediocrity (as it stands, it never truly ascends anywhere aside from “Amigos”).
