Lil B - I Own Swag (Based World, 2012)

So, after Based God gets done releasing his best mixtape in recent time, he decides to T-Shirt and Buddens David Banner. This really is great, and the accompanying video, filmed at skatepark with a heavy emphasis on a couple roses, only add to what maybe one B’s most dynamic songs. B adopts a double-time flow for most of the songs, at times getting so caught up in that it sounds like he may lose it. On the one instance he does, he recovers by breaking out into song, singing “you know I’m more famous than yoooouuuuu.” B’s juvenile shots at David at the end, calling him “fatty” repeatedly only seal the deal.

Lil B - Pussy On My Face (Youtube, 2012)

So, I take it this track wasn’t received too well initially? It seems to have been cut from White Flame, which I kinda find to be a shame. While I’m growing more fond of White Flame with each listen, this honestly would’ve taken it even further for me. Though it’s little more than a Based freestyle, the production is frantic, and B’s use of autotune is very rare (like, literally). His already distinct voice sounds even more ridiculous when run through this filter. Hearing him talk about how his face looks like Gary (Spongebob?) then concludes that with his trademark “NYAH” which almost resembles the snail’s meow just makes me lose it everytime. Do yourself a favor, and add this track to your White Flame on iTunes.
