Chief Keef - Kobe (GBE/Interscope, 2012)
As much as I’d love to write about “Love Sosa,” I feel like I’ve already missed the deadline and I couldn’t do the track justice if I tried. Instead, I’d just like to point out that Young Chop is borrowing some cues from Zaytoven melodically here, while this is essentially the same video as Gucci’s “Heavy” without the women (it is a Keef video, afterall!) and shots of Kobe Bryant interjected throughout. Also, where the hell did Reese go?
KAP - #KAPfe (self-released, 2012)
KAP, who are really only known for their (or Lil G, more specifically) excellent collaboration with Chief Keef, “Tatted Like Amigos”, released their latest mixtape yesterday. As a group of three kids out of Atlanta, they sound inconspicuously like Travis Porter - one of the members ever bares an uncanny resemblance to Ali, and I’m almost entirely sure that is Ali’s twin brother or Ali himself under another pseudonym. Lil G is the clear stand-out of the group, as Not Ali and their chubby friend offer little that we’ve yet to hear, but Lil G’s Lil Mexico lingo and off-key sing-song almost takes this tape above the cusp of mediocrity (as it stands, it never truly ascends anywhere aside from “Amigos”).
Chief Keef (Feat. Fat Trel) - Russian Roulette (Prod by Lex Luger)
GBE x Slutty Boyz visuals. Finally Rich should be dropping any day now..
Not only is Fat Trel one of the best active rappers..
Not only is he breaking barriers for chubby perverts around the world..
But the man literally looks like a tiger. Somehow. That makes Fat Trel one of the greatest things this world has to offer.
