So, Roc-A-Fella lives on, and as of right now, with Kanye West*, Jadakiss, and the newly signed Curren$y on the label, it honestly looks a lot more promising than Jay’s Roc Nation, whose only artist worth mention is the overhyped J. Cole. Curren$y’s Pilot Talk is supposed to be the first album dropping on Roc-A-Fella, although I think it’s still dropping digitally on Amalgam? I’m not sure to be honest, as of right now, but if it’s dropping in stores, I’ll be sure to pick up a copy.
Another thing of note, is that Dame seems to be working with Jay Electronica, as well. That kid’s got friends in all the right places. Makes me wonder if he’ll sign with Roc-A-Fella, Bad Boy, continue taking the independent route (doubtful, at this point), or go in a completely different direction.
As far as I’m concerned, the re-launch of Roc-A-Fella is great for hip-hop, Curren$y being the first artist is also great. Let’s see how this all works out in the long run, though.
* is Kanye still on Roc-A-Fella, like, in reality?
